5. Do not leave the paintings near or on pointed objects. These sharp edges could inflict dents or cuts on your fine portraits, hence disfiguring them.
6. Apply a layer of varnish to the painted surface of your oil painting to serve as an extra layer of protection from the environment.
7. It is best if you could clear the dust particles that have accumulated on the surface time to time. A clean, soft brush, micro cloth or low power vacuum are suitable candidates for this job.
8. Should anything drastic occurs to your paintings, do not hesitate to bring it to the professional cleaning and restoration services. For such a cherished piece of painted memory, it is definitely worth the cost.
